NES emulator for both 68k & PowerPC Macs (fat binary).
(v1.2)
Requires Appearance Manager in Mac OS 7.
These are empty (blank) Mac formatted disk images, ready to be used with Mac emulators, SheepShaver & Basilisk II (maybe Mini vMac with the HFS drives)
1st DL: is a HFS Standard IMG for emulators, expanding to a little more than 30GB.
The file is compressed with bz2, so its only 41kbyte.
You may inflate it in OSX with The Unarchiver or by running bunzip2 from the command line.
Copy this into Terminal, presuming your bz2 is located in /Classic:
bunzip2 -c /Classic/HD30.img.bz2 > /Classic/HD30.img
In any case patience is needed and enough space to store the inflated image.
Version 4.0 requires Mac OS 8.5 or higher, and a Power Mac G3 or G4 processor. It was available with PC-DOS 2000, Windows 98 (Second Edition) and Windows Me guest operating systems. Includes a new virtual disk format that can dynamically grow up to 127 GB.
To Run Windows ME I Recommend using OS9 or Higher
Give Windows at least 96 MB of RAM or more.
The last mac update was 4.0.2.
4.0 is also the first to have a Windows version. The Windows version requires Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0 SP6, or Windows 2000 Professional as host. (This is not the Windows version)
PPC G3 G4
From Zophar's Domain:
This is a port of YAME to the Mac. It's a multiconsole emulator, and all the documentation is in Japanese. It supports TurboGrafx 16, NES, and Gameboy.
While the documentation is most certainly in Japanese, the emulator itself appears to be in English. I tested it and it appears to work fine on Mac OS 9.2.2 on my Powerbook G4 M8592.
Zophar's Domain says this emulator is at version 0.37, but the about screen identifies it at version 0.10, make of that what you will.
PowerPC 604 processors and up (G3's shouldn't be an issue)
Mac OS 8 (8.5/8.6 Compatible)
PC emulator for PPC
Another (Qemu based) x86 emulator for PowerPC Macs.
NESMac is the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) emulator for Macintosh computers. This emulator can execute the 32KB/16KB program ROM images (.nes). It can use the keyboard and the GRAVIS GamePad for input.
This program is available in Japanese only.
A later version 0.4.3 was announced in 2003 by the author but it is unsure if has been ever really released.
If you got NESMac v0.4.3, please do upload it to this webpage!
The 1st download is NESMac 0.3.6a4 68k.
The 2nd download is NESMac 0.3.6a4 PPC.
Macintosh:
68040 processor
Power Macintosh:
PowerPC processor
GBMac is the Gameboy and Gameboy Color emulator for Macintosh computers.
This program is available in Japanese only.
Only the version 1.2.6b4 was released freely as shareware by the author. A later version 1.3.1 was announced in 2003 by the author to be available for registered users only. It supports more games than the v1.2.6, including Pokémon Crystal and Gameboy Wars 3.
The 1st download is GBMac 1.2.6b4.
The last 4 downloads are sample free ROM images.
Macintosh:
68040 processor or later recommended.
Apple II emulator for classic b&w Macs.
Many programs (for example, Dark Forces) were designed for at least the top-of-the-line chip in the 68000 family (the 68040) to take advantage of the powerful new features which it provides. Unfortunately, this prevents users of '020 and '030 Macs from using the software.
Pseud040 is a shareware program for users of 68020 and 68030 Macs which installs a "virtual 68040" and allows them to run software which otherwise would require a 68040.
This extension is a completely transparent emulator, like Rosetta for intel or the 68k emulator for classic PowerMacs. You wont even notice it's running.
Basilisk II is a 68k Macintosh emulator for Android. It emulates 68000 through 68040-based Macs and it can be used to run Mac OS 7.0 thru Mac OS 8.1. All Basilisk builds require a Mac ROM in order to work as intended.
Emulator version: 10.0.0.02.

Requires Android 2.3 and up.
This is an old build that used to be available via the Android app store.
As it is gone for reasons I can´t tell, I think its deserves a place here.
The DL comes ready to use. Expand and move to a folder /mnt/sdcard0/minivmac on your device.
To install, navigate to the "name.osher.gil.minivmac.ii" folder and into "rev". Install 40.apk
You may need to check the box "install from any location" in you system settings.
The app is based on MiniVMac 3.3.3 by Paul C. Pratt.
Android 2.3 or higher and a place called sdcard0 on the given device.
Path is hard coded.
An open source project to bring an official port of QEMU to Mac Complete with GUI interface. Commonly used by G4 users to run Windows on their machines.
App hangs on G5 systems, won't load an emulated OS past boot. Ironically runs fine on the comparably slower, less up to the task of emulation/virtualization, G4 Macs. Use iEmulator on G5s instead.
OS X port of the popular Commodore Amiga emulator, UAE. This version is special as it is the last binary distribution for Snow Leopard (10.6).
Despite being intel binaries, this version has been mentioned to successfully compile on Leopard (10.5) PowerPC.
Another Commodore 64 emulator, which run under Mac OS Classic...
Many do not know there was actually a rather short-lived Mac OS 9 version of ScummVM, the popular adventure game interpreter.
This is version 0.20. If someone should have a later version of it, please upload! ScummVM was alpha quality software by that time, at best. The .sit comes with the source code and project files, so if you want to poke around in CodeWarrior or pick up the work and bring us an updated ScummVM for OS 9 - go ahead.
Supported games according to the readme:
This is a Mac emulator of the BBC Micro Computer from Acorn. There are both 68k and PPC versions inside the archive. For running this properly, you must drag 2 ROM files (MOS and BASIC) into the ROMs folder and rename them "OSROM" and "BASIC". ROM files can be found on the web.
From the User Guide file:
At least a 68030 processor (68040 @ 25 MHz processor or better recommended) for the 68k version.
A PowerPC processor for the other application version.
SSW 7 or later for all the versions.
A few apps and games are included
Basilisk etc
An amazing emulator of the most popular Amstrad computers.
Any Power Macintosh with 16-bit color screen.
